The scoreline says it all in relation to this one-sided Under 21B championship semi-final at Hibernian Park in Burt.

Glenswilly 4-16 Malin 0-3

By Charlie Collins

Glenswilly dominated from start to finish, leading by 2-7 to 0-2 at half-time, won the second-half by 2-9 to 0-1, had a total of eleven scorers and showed a great appetite for game both on and off the ball which Malin just couldn’t match.

It was a complete team performance from Glenswilly who like their opponents had just squeezed through their quarter—final by one point last weekend. Glenswilly led by 1-3 to 0-0 after ten minutes, Daithi Gildea, Jack Gallagher and Kealan Dunleavy got the points, and Conor McGinty finished off a super five man move to fist the ball to the Malin net.

They added another 1-4 in the next fifteen minutes, Daithi Gildea taking an excellent Jack Gallagher pass and drilling the ball into the bottom corner.

McGinty , Gildea and Dunleavy added top class points before Malin finally registered their first point from David Gallagher in the 27th minute. Kealan Dunleavy and Josh Conlon exchanged points to leave it 2-7 to 0-2 at the break.

Conlon opened up the second-half with Malin’s third and what would prove their final score of the game.

Darragh Enright replied for Glenswilly and then Gerard Shields slotted home their third goal after Emmet O Boyle and Sean Gallagher had combined to set him up.

Gallagher and Gildea added points , as did Sean Collum and Emmet O Boyle to make it 3-12 to to 0-3.

Both teams emptied their benches after this but the pattern of the game remained as it was with an impressive Glenswilly in control.

Gerard Shields added a couple of points as did sub Gary Kelly and another sub Darragh McFadden chipped in with a well taken goal to round off a hugely impressive Glenswilly performance and clinch a final spot against either Aodh Rua or Glenfin.
