Met Éireann has warned of potentially hazardous road conditions because of severe frost this morning.
It has also issued an alert for ice and freezing fog in some parts of the country.
Both warnings will stay in force until midday as will a snow/ice warning for Co Donegal.
The forecaster says the cold snap will continue into next week.
