A new weather alert has been issued for Donegal warning of possible snow accumulations from tonight (Sun) and into tomorrow.
The warning from Met Eireann says showers of sleet and snow will fall from Sunday night and Monday morning, falling as rain near the coast and may lead to accumulations in places.
The warning will come into effect from 11pm tonight (Sun) and last until 12pm tomorrow.
A general warning warning from Met Eireann says it will remain very cold through the week with widespread sharp to severe frosts and icy stretches.
Some showers of hail, sleet and snow will occur, mainly near coasts. Accumulations at lower levels are expected to remain low.
Freezing fog will occur at times, with winds remaining light over land.
This general warning comes into effect today and lasts until Friday for across the country.

•Potential supply disruption
•Potential for burst water pipes and damage to engines
•Increased risks to vulnerable members of the community
•Animal welfare issues
•Slack winds over land leading to reduced wind power generation
