The staff and students of Finn Valley College return to the boards in The Balor Theatre this week Dec 13th-15th with their annual Christmas show that promises a night of song, music and craic. The theme this year is an Irish one as you are all invited to Ceili House for a madcap session.
It’s been three years since the last live show in 2019 and the students are itching to get back on the stage.
Teacher Nicole McCafferty praised the cast for their enthusiasm and dedication: “We’ve been rehearsing every week since September as we have 24 acts and 80 on the stage so the logistics alone are daunting but the hard work of the students is what keeps us going. We have some old favourites back again this year but with such a new cast of students we have been able to dive into some new acts also.”

Freddie Godliman thanked the support of all staff members “not just those mad enough to go out in front of an audience but the behind scenes workers who have been busy sewing, cutting and stitching costumes and making props. It’s an all-school show really”, he added.
Newcomer to the live shows, Holly Murray, who came on board during the online covid shows over the last two years said she was glad to be part of such an inclusive show. “I think it’s just great the way staff and students all row in together behind the show. It’s such a laugh too, a breath of fresh air after the last two years masked up.”
So get yourself down to the Balor if it’s a fun night you’re after, but you better be quick about it because some nights have sold out already.
