Dave Rogers’ first competitive game in charge will see Galway United travel up to Ballybofey as the League of Ireland tease the 2023 fixtures.

The first game of First Division football at Finn Park since 2018 will take place on the 17th of February, and there may be some familiar faces returning.

Rob Slevin has already signed up for The Tribesmen for the 2023 season, while Ollie Horgan has been linked with the assistant coaching role in his native county, which would see him as No.2 to John Caulfield.

Gary Boylan was on loan at Finn Harps for the second half of the 2022 season from Galway and may make a return.

Finn Harps announced the appointment of new assistant manager in Darren Murphy this morning as Dave Rogers prepares for his first season in charge.

New kids on the block Kerry welcome Cobh Ramblers to Mounthawk Park in a Munster Derby on the opening day, which are the only game week fixtures announced so far.

Treaty United will host Bray Wanderers and Wexford welcome Waterford on the Friday night, while Athlone Town make the short trip to Longford on Saturday the 18th February.

Derry City travel to St. Patrick’s Athletic on the opening day of the Premier Division, while Sligo Rovers host champions Shamrock Rovers on the Saturday night.

Cork City host Bohemians, UCD travel to Dundalk, and Shelbourne welcome Drogheda United in the other fixtures.

All fixtures for the 2023 season in the Premier Division, First Division, and the Women’s National League are expected to be released on Thursday.
