A valuable Scania lorry which was stolen from a yard in Co Donegal has been found in the North fitted with false number plates.
The Scania 450, estimated to be worth more than €50,000, was taken from a yard in Killygordon on December 4th last.
Two men were spotted driving a BMW into the yard where the lorry was parked at 11pm before one broke into the lorry and drove it away along Liscooley Road.
Now police in Co Armagh found the 172 SO-registered lorry and seized it.
Officers confirmed the valuable Scania had been fitted with new false number plates.
Investigators are still trying to piece together the movements of the lorry after it was taken from its Donegal yard.
A PSNI spokesperson said “Slieve Gullion North Neighbourhood Policing Team recovered a stolen lorry bearing false number plates that was taken during a burglary in Co Donegal last week.
“This was a significant find and no doubt depriving the culprit of a vast amount of criminal money.
“The vehicle has now been recovered and will be returned to its owner.
“Police are asking if anyone seen this lorry while it was on its travels to make contact quoting serial number 13 of 11/12/22 or contact crime stoppers anonymously.”
