Donegal filmmakers are being offered an exciting chance to work on a major film starring Pierce Brosnan next year.

Donegal Daily exclusively revealed that Bond star Pierce Brosnan will be shooting a film in the Dungloe area in February. The multi-million euro movie is an adaption of the novel ‘Four Letters of Love’ by Niall Williams set in Dublin and on an island off the west coast of Ireland.

The beautiful screenplay will be directed by London writer-director Polly Steele.

Donegal County Council’s Film Office shared the open call for local residents with filmmaking and production experience to join the crew.

The Crew Call also invites applications from trainees and new entrants.

They said: “We are looking for crew with some experience in film and television production and new entrants who live within a 45km radius of the production office Dungloe.

“These are paid positions. The Trainees and New Entrants will receive bespoke on-the-job training and mentoring as part of your employment. You must be available to work full-time February 2023.

Trainees/new entrants will be required across all departments.

“Applicants must be over 18. Proof of address will be required. Own transport is essential. Applicants must be legally allowed to work in Ireland and must be an EU citizen or have an Irish work permit.

“We are interested in seeing applications from a diverse range of applicants of all ages and backgrounds. Please note your application will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.

“If you are interested, please email floldonegal@gmail.com and state which department you would like to be considered with a copy of your CV.

“Deadline is Friday 23rd December 2022.”

Donegal, with its rugged landscape and picturesque towns, is fast becoming a top location for filmmakers, thanks to the handful of dedicated staff at Donegal County Council’s Film Office.

‘Four Letters of Love’ is following hot on the heels of Star Wars which was filmed in Inishowen in 2017, God’s Creatures starring Paul Mescal (2021) and In The Land of Saints and Sinners (Liam Neeson) which was shot in south west Donegal earlier this year.
