Breaking Santa News: Claus for concern after ‘flying license’ found in Inishowen field

Gardai in Buncrana have been informed of strange incidents in a number of parts of Inishowen this afternoon.

Bright lights were spotted in the skyline above Carndonagh and Culdaff.

Divisional Garda Superintendent Goretti Sheridan dispatched a number of officers to the scene.

Sergeant Noel Snowden and Garda Holly Bush were among those who were first on the scene.

One local did manage to get this grainy picture in the skyline above Redcastle around 3.45pm (see below)

There were no further sightings of lights but Sgt Snowden said he did hear bells just after 4pm as he passed the North Pole Bar at Drumfries.

Both officers went to investigate and after a two hour chat with locals inside the bar, Sgt Snowden and Garda Bush said they were satisfied nothing untoward had happened.

However, upon leaving the bar the officers came across a lost flying license (pictured above).

The license was in the name of S Claus with an address at the North Pole.

Locals in the popular bar said there was nobody in the bar of that name.

However, the bar manager said a man with a white beard whom he had never seen in the bar before had left just minutes before the Gardai arrived.

The man asked for a glass of milk and also enquired if there was a field nearby where he could rest his animals for a few minutes as they had been traveling for hours.

Gardai are continuing their enquiries but have advised all children to be in bed early tonight as Santa is due to arrive across Donegal from 7pm onwards.

Meanwhile, Sgt Snowden and Garda Bush said that whoever lost their flying license can collect it from the lost property section at Buncrana Garda Station.
