Get chilly in the Swilly this New Year’s Day for Creeslough fund

UPDATE: Please note this fundraiser is not associated with the annual Polar Plunge organised by An Garda Siochana. An earlier photo on this article showed a recent plunge at Rathmullan. Donegal Daily is happy to clarify that the 2023 New Year’s Swim at Rathmullan is a community event.

It’s almost that time of the year again, when Rathmullan residents and visitors lose their sensibility and plunge into the ‘Chilly Swilly’, all for a good cause of course!

The challenge invites all to jump into the new year with family and friends this January 1st at Rathmullan Beach at 12noon.

After spending a few cosy evenings by the fire over Christmas, remember to hold onto that warming feeling as you take a dip into the ice cold waters of the Swilly.

This year the New Year’s Day swim will be in aid of the Creeslough Community Fund.

Sponsorship cards available at local venders and outlets.

Organisers said” Bring your friends, your family, warm layers (and a pocket full of courage). It’s going to be a cold one, if this week’s temperatures are anything to go by. There will also be a bucket collection on the day. Any donation, big or small, will be greatly appreciated. We look forward to seeing you all for our fun filled start to 2023.”
