St. Michael’s have confirmed they have raised over €4,000 for the Creeslough fund from their Boxing Day Charity Match and raffle.
The match took place on St. Stephen’s Day at The Bridge between the 2003 team that won the Donegal and Ulster Intermediate Football Championships, reaching the All-Ireland final, and the current team.
A raffle also took place after the game in Rose’s Bar in which some great prizes were won, from a signed Séamus Coleman jersey and a signed Kerry jersey to hampers and vouchers generously donated by local establishments.
A spokesperson for the club said: “A total sum of €4,008 was raised on Boxing Day at the Charity Game at the Bridge. All proceeds will now be donated to the Creeslough fund.
“We would like to say a big thanks to everyone who kindly donated and helped out on the day. We would like to thank all the business who kindly donated prizes for our raffle. I’m sure everybody enjoyed the day and it was great to see some old faces put back on the red and white again.”
The club felt the full effects of the Creeslough Tragedy, with the village in the clubs parish, and continue to rally together at a tough time for their community.
