Daniel O’Donnell is considering trying boyband showbusiness, he has revealed.
The Donegal singer said he would love to duet with Westlife one day, but worries that they will think he’s too old.
Daniel told the Irish Sunday Mirror: “I wouldn’t mind dueting with Westlife at all but sure them young lads now, would they be wanting an auld fella like me?
“I’m open to things like that. I’ve dueted with lots of the young country singers, doing bits and pieces with them.”
Westlife’s hit ‘Flying Without Wings’ has a special meaning for Daniel and Majella, as it was the song that was playing when they first met in the Canaries.
“We used to sing it in the bars in Tenerife, we love it,” Daniel said.
Westlife were the headline act of Dublin’s New Year’s Eve countdown last night, but the band performed as a trio as Mark Feehily recovers from pneumonia.
Meanwhile, Daniel spent New Year’s cosied up at home in Donegal enjoying family time with his grandchildren. He took time to wish all his fans a Happy New Year via Facebook live:
