A chilly New Year’s Day is in store, according to Met Eireann, with temperatures rising no higher than 6C.
If you’re planning to blow away the cobwebs with a walk or a New Year’s dip, make sure to plan ahead!
This morning will be mostly dry, but scattered showers will develop during the afternoon and evening and some may turn wintry later, particularly sleet over high ground.
Met Eireann is forecasting highest temperatures of 3C to 6C in Ulster counties.
There is a risk of frost again tonight, with lowest temperatures of -3 to 0 degrees.
Met Eireann says: “Tonight will be very cold and frosty with icy surfaces possible. It will be largely dry with long clear spells, however there will be isolated showers and some of these may be wintry. Patches of freezing fog will develop too.”
