St. Eunan’s dominate Dungloe to reach U21A semi-finals

St. Eunan’s eased their way into the semi-finals of the U21 A Championship with a dominant display over Dungloe.

St. Eunan’s 3-18 Dungloe 0-1

David Boyle hit 1-7 while Daragh Ellison got 1-2 and Oran Winston got five points as Dungloe never got going.

St. Eunan’s dominated early proceedings but were battling the elements with a strong with against them and the rain going sideways, the Letterkenny men had three early wides.

But Ciaran Moore got Eunans on the scoreboard after eight minutes and they soon raced into a three point lead when Shane O’Donnell pointed before he turned provider for Cian McMonagle who pointed easily.

Eunan’s continued to dominate in the same form as David Boyle pointer twice, from a free and a mark, while Oran Winston pointed before setting up Boyle for an easy point, 0-7 to no score. 

Dungloe’s first point came on the 20th minute through 13 but St. Eunan’s would quickly put the game further out of their opponents reach. 

Firstly, a great bit of play from Moore to play in Winston and he found Boyle who rounded the keeper and first into the net. 

And within half a minute of that goal, St. Eunan’s got another when they won the kick out and O’Donnell played in Dayyragh Ellison for a goal. 

St. Eunan’s added on to the score line before half time as Winston and Ellison added to their tallies as the Black and Amber went in 2-9 to 0-1 ahead. 

St. Eunan’s continued their dominance in the second half as Ellison pointed inside 15 seconds. 

A third Eunans goal came through substitute Donal Higgins who hit the back of the net while Boyle added three more points of his own, 3-13 to 0-1. 

Winston got himself three more points and a Boyle mark followed by a Moore free, who opened the scoring and completed the scoring, leaving it at a final score of 3-18 to 0-1.
