A call has been made for Donegal volunteers interested in forming a refugee welcoming group.
The Community Sponsorship programme is run by the Irish Refugee Council. It aims to provide a warm Irish welcome to those invited here by the State.
The council’s Regional Support Organisations for the Dublin area and Border region will help teams organise locally and fundraise as a community group. No specific skills are required.
“We will provide training and put safeguarding in place so you will be fully supported in this enriching community project,” a spokesperson said.
