The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) served a closure order on one Donegal business last month.
The penalty was served on The Cosy Corner Outside Catering, Crossroads, Killygordon, on December 1.
However, it was lifted four days later.
It related to an area of the business which manufactured and distributed filled baguettes, sandwiches and wraps for distribution to other premises.
Nationally, there were 77 food closure orders served on businesses last year.
That’s an increase of 31 per cent on 2021, according to the authority.
The FSAI says there are a number of recurring issues including a lack of pest control, inadequate training in relation to food safety and personal hygiene, and improper storage of food.
