Parts of Donegal have the lowest vaccination rates in Ireland, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
The Primary Course Completed rate for 5- to 11-year-olds was just 4% in Buncrana and Carndonagh, compared to 55% in Stillorgan, Dublin.
The uptake for the same dose in other areas of Donegal showed the Lettekrenny LEA was highest at 15%, with Glenties, Donegal and Milford LEAs at 9% while Lifford-Stranorlar was 6%.
The rates for Booster 1 ranged from 36% in Buncrana to 75% in Rathfarnham-Templogue in Dublin.
Steven Conroy, CSO Statistician, said the data in this bulletin is based on COVID-19 Vaccinations and Booster 1, 2 and 3 programmes that were given up to 30 November 2022. It should be noted that only certain groups of people were offered Booster 2 and 3.
The report also includes analysis using data from the Revenue PAYE Modernisation system (PMOD) to provide insight on employment status of records of vaccination from the HSE Vaccine Information System. By 30 November 2022, a primary course of vaccinations was completed for 85% of all employees, while 61% had received Booster 1 and 13% had Booster 2.
Nearly all employees (98%) in the Human Health & Social Work sector had received a booster, 75% had received Booster 1 and 23% had received further Boosters. In the Education sector, 97% of employees had received a booster, 77% had received Booster 1 and 20% had additional boosters. In the Accommodation & Food Services sector, just 50% of employees had received a booster, 45% had received Booster 1 and 5% had further boosters.
