Rare antiques to go under hammer at Parochial House auction

Items from an old estate will be among those for sale at a parochial house contents auction next weekend.

The century-old St Joseph’s Parochial House, containing two semi-detached houses adjacent to St Patrick’s Church, Crossroads, Killygordon, was recently renovated.

As a result, more than 30 items of furniture from the houses that are surplus to requirement will be put under the hammer.

Included are several pieces of antique furniture plus a Victorian Breakfast Side Table from former Mount Hall Estate (with documented proof).

The sprawling estate was formerly the home of the Young family, and a ‘big house’ was in existence there from 1777-83 up until it was demolished in the 1970s.

The auction will take place at the Crossroads Parochial Hall on Saturday 14th January at 2pm.

“Why not come along on Saturday and purchase some of the past,” local PP, Fr Patsy Arkinson, said.
