The Banshees of Inisherin scored a hat-trick at last night’s Golden Globes awards.
The Irish drama took home Best Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Actor for Colin Farrell and Best Screenplay for Director Martin McDonagh.
The film, shot on Inis Mór and Achill Island, is set to have an exciting awards circuit this season if the success gains momentum after the Golden Globes.
Colin Farrell took the opportunity to share the love with Martin McDonagh and his co-star Brendan Gleeson during his acceptance speech.
“Martin McDonagh I owe you so much man,” Farrell said.
“14 years ago you put me working with Brendan Gleeson… and you changed the trajectory of my life forever in ways that I, begrudgingly, will be grateful to you for the rest of my days.”
Addressing Gleeson, Farrell continued: “Brendan, I just, I love you so much.
“I love that I get to cohabitate this creative space with you every day. All I did when I came to work every day was aspire to be your equal.
“I’m not saying I even got there, but the aspiration kept me going. And I’ll thank you for that for the rest of my days also.”
Soak in the WIN! Congratulations to our winner for Best Actor – Motion Picture – Musical/Comedy, Colin Farrell! ✨😌
