A wind warning has been issued for Donegal by Met Eireann.
The warning began at 5am this morning and will remain in place until 2am tomorrow morning (Fri).
The warning reads “Westerly winds will be very strong and gusty today, in the west at first, progressing eastwards in the afternoon, reaching storm force at coastal areas of the northwest.”
The possible impacts include downed trees, power outages and travel disruption.
Met Eireann has also warned of heavy showers for Donegal today.
The warning will last from midday today until 12am on Friday.
The warnings says “Frequent heavy showers or longer spells of rain will lead to localised flooding today and tonight.”
