A month’s mind mass will be held in the village of Newtowncunningham for tragic soldier Sean Rooney tomorrow.

The mass will take place at 10am at All Saints Church in Newtown.

Sean, aged 24, was killed while on peacekeeping duties with the UN in the Lebanon on December 14th last.

Although born and raised in Dundalk, Sean spent a number of years living in Newtown and is fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A mass will also be held at Holy Family Church on Sunday to remember Private Rooney.

Members of Sean’s family as well as his fiancee Holy McConnellogue are expected to attend both masses.
