The tiny village of Doochary is to get two new defibrillators thanks to a massive fundraising effort by the local community.
A few months ago, The Doochary Development Group set a target in order to raise funds to buy one of the lifesaving devices.
“Thanks to your generosity we have reached our goal and more, we now have the funds to purchase not just one, but two, defibrillators for our village,” a spokesperson for the group said.
“Well, the people of Doochary and beyond have really done us proud. Give yourselves a pat on the back.”
The first is to be installed on the front of the village shop, with the permission of the Caulfield family.
The second defibrillator will be gifted to the local primary school.
