Exasperated gardaí in Donegal are calling on all drivers to SLOW DOWN and save lives.
The call comes after three drivers were caught speeding well over 100km/hr in dangerous conditions on Friday evening.
The detections were made in the Letterkenny area, with one driver clocked speeding at 139KPH in a 100KPH zone.
“The roads were extremely busy at the time and weather conditions were very poor with heavy rain/wet road surfaces,” a garda spokesperson said.
Gardaí took to social media today to simply ask motorists to SLOW DOWN.
“We sound like a broken record. We know that. We also know that speed kills so we continue to urge all drivers to slow down.
“The appeal to ‘slow down’ certainly is repetitive and therefore should be well known. It should be taken on board. Perhaps some don’t care? Maybe some think that they are invincible? We are ALL vulnerable on the roads.
“Nobody is invincible.
“Save lives. Slow down.”
