A Donegal Airport bound flight was forced to divert back to Dublin this afternoon due to strong winds.
The Dublin-Donegal Aer Lingus flight left the capital at 12.40pm but was unable to land at Carrickfinn due to a crosswind.
The flight was diverted back to Dublin and landed safely at 2.20pm.
The evening flight at 18:50 was subsequently cancelled.
A weather warning is in place for Donegal until 10pm tonight as the county is lashed by very strong and gusty winds today. The winds are particularly dangerous near coast and on high ground, Met Eireann warns.
