Killybegs is gearing up for its busiest year ever for cruise ships.

A record 32 of the giant floating hotels are to sail into Ireland’s premier fishing port in 2023.

That’s according to the local marine services company, Sinbad Marine.

They state that the cruise ships will bring with them 50,000 visitors, providing a massive boost to the local economy in south west Donegal.

Among these is the longest ship ever to berth in Killybegs, the ‘Norwegian Getaway’ which measures 326 metres (1,069 ft). Eleven other ships will be making their maiden visit to Killybegs this year.
