Paddy McBrearty confirmed as new Donegal captain

Paddy McBrearty will succeed Michael Murphy as the captain of Donegal, it has just been confirmed.

The official announcement was made by the County Board this morning, two weeks ahead of the Allianz League opener against Kerry in Ballybofey.

The Kilcar man will take over from Murphy, who was first given the captain’s armband ahead of the 2011 season by then manager Jim McGuinness.

Killybegs duo, Hugh McFadden and Eoghan Ban Gallagher, will be joint vice captains
