One of the movies shot in Donegal last year received tax credits for between €2m and €5m.

In the Land of Saints and Scholars, starring Liam Neeson, received the boost form the Revenue Commissioners Office under the Section 481 film corporation tax credit scheme.

The film, shot on location around Glencolmcille and Ardara last summer, provided temporary employment for dozens for locals as extras and film crew.

The film, which tells the story of a retired assassin, also stars Ciaran Hinds and Kerry Condon.

The movie was one of a number shot in Ireland which availed of tax credits under the scheme totalling €127.3M in 2022.
