Two kindhearted senior managers at Currys Letterkenny have managed to raise €5,000 for Donegal Hospice.
General Manager, Martin Goldrick, and Sales Manager, Fred Williams, both shaved their heads on Black Friday in a bid to raise much needed funds.
This week they presented the proceeds of their efforts directly to the charity.
Speaking about the fundraiser, Martin said the Hospice is part of everyday life here in Donegal and provides exemplary cover and care to all who need to avail of its services.
“Like so many others, cancer has come into our colleagues’ lives here in Currys Letterkenny,” he explained.
“So, myself and the team wanted to help the hospice by way of holding a head shave fundraising event on Black Friday. The hospice relies on fundraisers like this for at least 20% of the funding they need in order to buy specialist equipment, so we are absolutely delighted to have presented them with a cheque this week for €5,000.”
Isobell Doherty, Administrator at Donegal Hospice, said she was more than delighted with the boys’ efforts
“On behalf of the Donegal Hospice Services, I would like to thank Martin and the team at Currys Letterkenny for their dedication and generosity in raising this extraordinary amount of money to support our services. The €5,000 raised will be put to the best possible use, buying much needed equipment for the palliative care patients.”
