A number of agencies will come together to promote the north west with some of the region’s biggest employers at an event in Dublin next month.

The goal of the event, which will take place on 9 February in the Westbury Hotel, is to get the message out to professionals based in Dublin and the east that they can land a global career with a leading company and enjoy the best of ‘local living’ by moving to the north west.

‘Northwest in the City’ will cover a range of industries including biopharma, medtech, advanced manufacturing, technology and international financial services.

IDA Ireland, Enterprise Ireland and the Western Development Commission (WDC), have come together under the North West Regional Enterprise Plan for the event.

More than 20 multinationals and leading Irish companies are expected to attend including Optum, Tata Consultancy Services, AbbVie, VistaMed, SL Controls, Cora Systems, Overstock, Avenue, FinTrU and many more.

As well as showcasing senior roles, including those in automation, biologics, machine learning and investor services, attendees at ‘Northwest in the City’ will have the chance to network with senior industry leaders and hear from their peers who have previously relocated to the region.

The regional agencies and local authorities will be on hand to offer more practical advice on connectivity, transport, relocating and educational options.

The team behind the event say that Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim are home to more than 50 multinational companies that have set up in the region and scaled their international operations.

Andrea McBride, Head of the TCS Letterkenny Global Delivery Centre, said: “With our operations in the north west, we can truly offer the best of both worlds; a globally focused, progressively supported career in one of the world’s top-performing IT businesses and a quality of life off the beautiful Atlantic coast and all that this provides.”

People can register for the event on the Eventbrite platform.
