Met Éireann has issued a new Status Yellow ice warning for the entire country.
It will come into effect from 4pm this afternoon until midday tomorrow, as temperatures are set to drop below freezing again overnight.
The forecaster said there will be icy stretches, with freezing fog in places, leading to hazardous travelling conditions.
Temperatures could drop to as low as -4C overnight.
However, milder weather is in store for the weekend, although rain is forecast for Saturday and Sunday.
The UK Met Office has also issued a yellow snow and ice warning for Antrim, Down and Derry, with the potential for ice developing and some challenging travelling conditions tonight and tomorrow morning.
The warning will be in effect from 5pm this afternoon until 10am tomorrow.
Frost and ice affected many parts of the county this morning.
There will be some sleet in the northwest and southwest, but mostly dry conditions will follow for the rest of the day with some good sunny spells.
