Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage on the grounds of St. Conal’s Hospital Letterkenny this week.

A car was found destroyed in a secluded area around the back of the old hospital building yesterday morning.

The silver Toyota Vitz car (partial reg 09WH) was found with significant damage to the front bumper, the driver’s side window smashed and the ignition damaged and removed.

Gardaí believe the incident took place between 1.30am and 5.45am on Monday 23rd January. A patrol of the campus took place at 1.30am, at which time security workers did not see the car.

Gardaí are making enquiries to find the owner of the vehicle.

Anyone with any information which may assist with the investigation is asked to contact Letterkenny garda station on 0749167100.
