The Clinical Lead with NoWDOC says the planned move to a new base in Letterkenny will improve the service for both doctors and patients.
Dr Martin Coyne was commenting on the HSE plan to vacate the current base at Oldtown and move to The Hub on Kilmacrennan Road, opposite the hospital.
He stressed the move is not linked to the ongoing review of the NoWDOC service.
Concerns had been raised about Caredoc taking over the out of hours GP service in Donegal.
Dr Coyne, however, said Caredoc already provides and manages the GPs who run the service, and the separation between the GPs and the NoWDOC administration team can be problematic, particularly in terms of GDPR.
