Three members of Donegal’s Celtic-folk supergroup T with the Maggies will be making a special appearance at a musical celebration of St Brigid this weekend.

On Sunday 5th February, TG4 will air Ardóidh mé mo Sheol – Lá Le Bríde 2023  – a new music and entertainment show to celebrate Brigid and the women of Ireland.

Filmed in front of a live audience in the majestic surroundings of St Brigid’s Cathedral, Kildare Town, there’ll be music from the incredible voices of Maighread Ni Dhomhnaill, Clannad’s Moya Brennan, and The Bothy Band’s Triona Ni Dhomhnaill. The talented trio will perform two songs as T with the Maggies, of which Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh is also a member.

Other performers include Tara Erraught, John Francis Flynn & Paddy Keenan playing together for the first time, Ceol na mBan, The Nás na Rí Singers, Precious Abimbola and many more.

The programme is filmed on the very grounds that Brigid is said to have established a church and monastery in 480 A.D.

Across seventy-five minutes Brigid’s life, myths, traditions and influences will be celebrated by an ensemble cast of diverse Irish people, musicians, singers, poets, mythologists and academics.

Presenters Síle Ní Bhraonáin and Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin guide us through a musical celebration of Brigid, both goddess & saint on this first bank holiday weekend in her honour.
