Brendan Barr has left Derry City to sign for UCD for the 2023 Premier Division season.

The Newtoncunningham man is one of two signings made by The Students, with the acquisition of Adam Wells from Shamrock Rovers, as reported by extratime.com.

Barr was on loan at Dungannon Swifts (pictured above with manager Dean Shiels) in 2022, and was previously at Ballymena United.

Barr began his career at Finn Harps before switching allegiances to Derry at 17.

UCD stayed up in the Premier Division last year by defeating Waterford 1-0 in the promotion/relegation play-off.

UCD finished 9th in the 2022 season, six points ahead of Finn Harps.
