Emontions will be running high for the hugely popular Dublin Gospel Choir when they return to the stage of Letterkenny’s An Grianán Theatre later this month.
Fresh from their sold out Christmas performances at the end of 2022, the much loved choir take to the stage with Derry band Lore for a special collaboration in aid of the Red Cross Creeslough Fund.
General Manager John Crofton, whose daughter lives in Donegal, says “You can’t find a more peaceful and beautiful part of the country than north Donegal. The whole country was devastated for the small community in Creeslough.
“A very good friend of Dublin Gospel Choir with whom we have worked for many years, one of the Capuchin Friars based locally, was actually one of the first on the scene of the tragic event and has spoken to us about that day.”
Musical Director Orla Gargan continues “We originally had intended on performing at An Grianán on 22nd October, announced that we would donate the profits of the event to the community but, in the end, decided it would be better if we postponed until February as a mark of respect.
“We last performed at An Grianán in 2011 and had a wonderful experience, so we know that this will be a very special night. “
Joining the choir is Derry band Lore, who reached out to John to offer their support at the event. The choir’s set list will include uplifting gospel hits, powerful ballads and a selection of contemporary hits performed with Lore.
Dublin Gospel Choir with special guests Lore appear at An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny on Saturday 25th February at 8pm.
All profits from this event will be donated to Red Cross Creeslough Fund. Tickets cost €22 plus booking fee and available to purchase from An Grianán Theatre’s website https://angrianan.com/ or by calling 074 912 0777
