Gardaí are advising road users to expect some delays on the road from Ballybofey-Letterkenny-Creeslough this Saturday due to a charity run.
The ‘Trucking for Creeslough’ event will see a convoy of over 200 truck taking part in a 75km fundraising journey to raise funds for families affected by the Creeslough explosion on 7th October last.
Setting off at 1pm, the trucks will travel from the Donegal Road Ballybofey through Stranorlar to Tobin’s service station in Letterkenny at 1.30pm, and onwards via the Mount Errigal Hotel towards Mountain Top, Kilmacrennan, Termon, Creeslough.
They will stop momentarily in Creeslough for a wreath to be laid at the explosion site, before returning to the Silver Tassie Hotel on the Ramelton Road via Milford.
Gardaí are giving the event their full support and will be directing traffic on the day.
“If you have plans for the day, holidays, hospital appointments, please plan ahead,” said Sgt Eunan Walsh.
“We will do our best to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum but with an event of this scale there will be delays and we are asking people to plan ahead if they are travelling on any of the routes.”
