Tributes are being paid to former Castlefin publican Eilish Tinney, who has sadly passed away this week.

Mrs Tinney (née Mc Laughlin) once ran Tinney’s Bar in the village.

A stalwart of the parish, she was deeply admired by the local community.

A tribute from Tinney’s Bar staff this morning said: “Some sad news yesterday as we learned of the passing of the great Eilish Tinney, a much respected and trusted member of the community here in Castlefin and deeply admired by the staff and customers of the bar. Eilish will make her final journey tonight at 6pm to St Mary’s chapel and as a mark of respect for our former chief of staff the bar will close at that time and remain closed until after the burial tomorrow, RIP Eilish.”
