Naomh Conaill have paid tribute to the family of one of the men killed in the road traffic collision in Mayo, who is a Naomh Conaill supporter.
Stephen Brennan of Lismorrane, Bohola was one of two men killed on Wednesday, along with Martin Murphy, after they collided with an articulated truck on the N60 at Facefield.
Brennan, whose mother is Rita O’Donnell from Meenahallow, was a big fan of the Glenties based team, and a statement from the club was released this morning.
“We were devastated to hear of the passing of Stephen Brennan, Bohola, Co. Mayo yesterday,” it reads.
“Stephen was an ardent Naomh Conaill supporter through his Mother, Rita (O Donnell) Meenahallow & attended so many of our games. Even though he was a big Mayo fan also, his love for his Mothers home place was evident for all to see, and we will miss his friendly face around town.
“We offer our deepest sympathies to his parents, Rita & Declan, his 2 Grannies, Maggie & Angela, uncles, Gerry, Michael, Columba O Donnell, Aideen & Gerry Brennan, Aunts Mary Pratico & Virginia Filan & his many cousins, friends & other Family members.
“Rest easy Stephen. Ar dhèis Dè go raibh a anam.”
