A kind Kerrykeel couple have managed to raise more than €10,000 for charity with their spectacular Christmas lights display.

Michael and Mary Whoriskey brightened up Christmas for us all with the return of their famous lights display at their home in Gortcally.

This year’s chosen charity was the Donegal Down Syndrome Association.

“We were absolutely over the moon to be able to hand over €10,565 to Donegal Down Syndrome this weekend, after a hugely successful season with our Christmas lights display,” the couple said.

“Thanks to all who donated at display and online also the Gardai for their support. Thanks to all the sponsors who came on board this year to assist us with running costs, also the sponsors who wish to remain anonymous.”

Lighting Supervisor, Ollie, is pictured handing over a cheque for €10,565 to Maureen and Jemma from the Donegal Down Syndrome Association.

The sponsors include: Highland Wind Energy, Friel &Co. Ltd, M.C.R . Group, D.S.environmental Services, Tirconaill Tribune, Whoriskey Oils Ramelton, Boyce Travel Ramelton, MOWI Ireland, Sheridan Security, Rathmullan Celtic Football Club, Michael Mc Ginley Corner Bar and Whitestrand Football club.
