Dublin band Wild Youth were selected to represent Ireland at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest after winning the Eurosong on the Late Late Show.

Wild Youth won the national jury and the public phone vote with their track ‘We Are One’.

Two Donegal artists were in the running to represent Ireland in Liverpool, but in the end it was not meant to be.

Letterkenny native Leila Jane Keeney started the show with her female empowerment song Wild.

Gweedore singer ADGY, aka Andrew Carr, also flew the flag for Donegal as he sang the catchy Too Good For Your Love.

Galway girl Jennifer Connolly finished a close second in the Eurosong semi-final, but the established Wild Youth were victorious.

The band will compete in the first half of the first Eurovision semi-final in Liverpool on 9 May. The UK is hosting the show for Ukraine, who were the Eurovision 2022 winners, but cannot host the event due to the Russian invasion.
