Majella O’Donnell is to be the special guest at tonight’s official launch of the Donegal Relay for Life 2023.
The launch will take place in the Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny, at 7:30pm, at which the date of this year’s event will be confirmed.
Normally held in May at the ATU Donegal (formerly LYIT) campus, last year’s 24-hour celebration raised more than €50,000 for the Irish Cancer Society.
Over the previous ten years, the unique event has raised more than €1.4million.
The event also highlights the advancements in treatments that are happening all the time, thanks to research.
After over a decade, Relay for Life still holds a high level of importance in the lives of cancer survivors and bereaved families.
The message of Relay for Life is to let cancer survivors know that they are not alone, and there is a strong will to ensure that more people hear it.
