St. Mary’s GAA Club, Convoy, is hosting an unmissable draw to raise funds for the redevelopment of their pitch and clubhouse.

A Club is more than just what happens on the pitch. It supports and serves the community, encouraging a sense of pride in who we are and where we’re from. Help us build for our future by supporting the redevelopment of our pitches and clubhouse in Convoy, Co. Donegal.

St. Mary’s GAA Club aims to raise over €180,000 to support the on-going development of the facilities including the playing field.

On this St Patrick’s day, we are holding our draw which includes the fantastic first prize of €50,000 along with five x €1000 prizes. Other prizes will also be on offer between now and the 17th March including bonus draws of draws of €500 each.

St. Mary’s GAA Club, Convoy Draw

St. Mary’s are very proud of their club and their achievements to date. In order to progress even further, we plan to upgrade and extend the current building and facilities to continue supporting the needs of its members, the community and to prepare the way for future generations.

St Mary’s are hoping this draw receives the enthusiastic support which is associated with the club teams, as it has done in previous years fundraising endeavours.

Formed in 1928 with no permanent home, several fields in the locality were used by our teams. Our current clubhouse was completed in 1992 after a huge nationwide fundraising draw and our playing pitch was refurbished in 2005. In 2011 state of the art flood lights were installed and since then the club has hosted many high-profile matches including the Toughest Trade game between Glenswilly and Convoy featuring Welsh rugby legend, Shane Williams.

From humble beginnings St. Mary’s now has teams performing at all grades in both Men’s and Ladies football. Our Men have won titles at Junior A & B, Intermediate B, Division 4, Division 4 Reserve and Division 3 Reserve, while our Ladies have won both Junior and Intermediate Championships. We have also enjoyed much success at underage level.

We have had a number of players both male and female represent the County and two players in the All-Ireland winning Donegal Masters squad. Our Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others team was set up in 2010, and in 2022 our Dads & Lads team was formed, providing a social outlet for players of any age or ability.

Many hard-working committee members and volunteers through the years have helped shape and grow our club. With increasing player numbers, redevelopment of our pitch and clubhouse is essential to provide the best facilities possible for our current and future members.

In order to be in for a chance to win €50,000, and to support our club, please see link here for tickets: www.stmarysgaadraw.ie. Thank you.
