Donegal garda raises ‘wheely’ big sum for Little Blue Heroes!

An inspirational local garda has raised an amazing €6,405 for the Little Blue Heroes charity after a solo cycle across Ireland.

Garda Ted Mc Caffrey from Donegal Town conquered the Mizen 2 Malin challenge with Race Ireland last July.

He competed in the Self Supported Solo category which meant that he had to be totally self-sufficient.

But with each kilometre, he was supporting some special young heroes all over Ireland who are facing their own challenges every day. Little Blue Heroes is a charity established by Garda staff which aims to support local Gardaí in providing financial assistance to families in need in their local communities who have children undergoing long-term medical treatment for critical illness.

Garda Mc Caffrey’s journey was well-supported by his Donegal colleagues and the Little Blue Heroes family nationwide.

He was proud to present the proceeds to the charity recently.

His colleagues would like to wish him a big ‘ Well done Ted! ‘
