Dunkineely/Bruckless/Killaghtee Community Notes

After the hugely successful Killaghtee Festival in 2022, we are looking to set up a new Festival Committee for the area.

These volunteers will not only deliver another Killaghtee Festival in 2023, but will also be looking at other celebrations during the year.

Are you passionate about Dunkineely, Killaghtee, Bruckless and St. John’s Point?

Do you want to gain skills, while doing something fun and exciting?

Do you think you can help?

We are also looking for volunteer Board members at Dunkineely Community Ltd. Doing work from running training courses to renovation of historic sites, the group does all kinds of things to support the community.

If you can spare a handful of hours a month and want to help the community in a variety of ways, then let us know.

Bruckless Community and Sports Centre

Gym circuit classes every Monday at 7pm and Wednesday at 7:30pm. All levels catered for!

Birthday Parties: Looking for somewhere to have a Birthday Party? We are taking bookings for children’s birthday parties in Bruckless Community Centre.

€30 per hour for full use of the sports hall, food area and bouncy castle.

The late Margaret Breslin

The death has occurred of Margaret Breslin (née Hanna), peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her husband Peter, daughters Nicola and Clódagh, sons Conor and Michael, forever remembered by her parents Packie and Anna Hanna, her brothers Damien, Pauric, David and Mark. She will be sadly missed by her brothers and sisters-in-law from the Hanna and Breslin families.

The funeral service was on 2nd February at St. Mary’s Church, with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Church Services

Methodist Church: Normal Sunday Services will be held at 10:30am in Ardara and 12 noon in Dunkineely.

Catholic Church: Mass will be held at the normal times. Mass can also be viewed on the Bruckless Church – St Joseph and St Conal’s Facebook page. Eucharistic Adoration is on Friday from 11am to 3pm, and on Sunday from 3pm to 4pm. Confession can be heard before weekend Masses or arrange a time by contacting Fr Brady at the Parochial House (074 973 7015).

Church of Ireland: The service on 19 th February will be held at 10:45am in Killaghtee. Georgina Armstrong conducting.

Dunkineely Celtic FC

Underage Teams: We are pleased to announce that memberships for 2023 are now being accepted.

The club is looking forward to welcoming new players and everyone is welcome.

Children are not permitted to train/play without registration so please contact the club officer or PM the club through Facebook, if you intend participating with your child in 2023.

Looking forward to another fun, active and inclusive year in 2023.

Donegal Underage League: The first assessments were held this week at Cappry Rovers and Drumkeen United Football Club , thanks to both clubs for the usage of facilities.

Matches: Dunkineely Celtic played Lagan Harps this week, away, losing to the home team 7-2.

The next match is on the 19 th February, 1pm, home to Cranford FC.

Lottery: Dunkineely Celtic Lotto results for Sunday 4 th February were 4, 14, 20, 27.

There was no Jackpot winner. Consolation prizes of €20 each went to Dessie Gallagher, Glen McBrearty and Brenda Jervis.

The next jackpot will be €540.

There was no Jackpot winner. Consolation prizes of €20 each went to Soairse Gallagher, Adam Duddy and John McShane.

Presentation Dinner: The club presentation dinner and dance will take place on 4 th March at 7:30pm, in the Bay View Hotel. A three course meal, live music and dancing.

Tickets are €25 each and can be purchased from any board member or from www.naomhultan.com.

U15s: The under 15s held the first training session of the year, with a good turnout.

For those wishing to register in person, they will be holding a Club Registration Evening on Saturday, 18 th February, 7:30 to 9pm upstairs in the clubhouse.

Adult Playing: €60

General Membership: €40

Student: €30

GAA Juvenile: €20

LGFA Juvenile: €20

Family Membership: €90

Royal Flush Lotto: Lotto results for 12/02/2023 were 5, 7, 21, 24.

There was no winner of the jackpot of €1460, consolation prizes went to Roisin Reynolds, Cait Lyons and Sean Furey.
