Campaign launched to remove illegal signs from Moville

Moville Tidy Towns have started a campaign to remove illegal signage from the Inishowen seaside town.

The issue has been highlighted on a number of occasions.

Now the the group are pleading with local businesses not to display illegal signage on points entering the town including lampposts.

It comes as the town once again makes a push for the tidy towns competition with weekly litter picks and general tidying of the town.

A spokesperson for the group highlighted the need to eradicate illegal signage.

“One issue raised in last year’s report by the Tidy Town competition adjudicators was the prevalence of illegal advertising signage entering the town and throughout on lampposts etc.

“We would like to remind businesses and residents that Donegal County Council has a Policy on Unauthorised Advertisement Signs which applies to Moville.

“We would urge anyone who has such signs in the town to remove then to help us keep the town looking its very best. Moville Tidy Towns will continue to support Donegal County Councils Policy on illegal Road signs.

“We thank you for your ongoing support in keeping Moville Tidy.”
