Power cut as intruder snips electrical wires at house

Gardai have launched an investigation after a man cut electrical wires at a house in the town.

Gardaí received a report of the incident of criminal damage on Friday the 10th of February at approx. 4.15pm at Ashfield.

A resident in the area reported that someone had come to their house and had cut electrical wires/cables above the electricity meter and the power had been cut off as a result.

This person who has been described as ‘a young male’ then left in a silver van.

A Garda spokesperson said “We appeal to anybody who may have seen this person or the silver van in question in the area on that date to make contact with Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100.”
