Donegal were well-beaten by a hard-working Waterford at O’Donnell Park in Letterkenny in this National Football League Division One clash.

Donegal 0-7 Waterford 2-9

Maxi Curran’s side were on the back foot early on following two first half goals from Waterford’s Annie Fitzgerald and Lauren McGregor.

With only 17 minutes played Donegal found themselves eight points behind 2-3 to 0-1 but they managed to get three points back before the interval.

Waterford went in with a five point advantage at the break on a scoreline of 0-4 to 2-3.

But try as they might, Donegal couldn’t claw back the visitors’ cushion in the second half.

Two second half points from Suzanne White and another from Amy Boyle Carr made up Donegal’s scoring tally for the second half.

Waterford managed to double that points tally in the second half and ran out comfortable 0-7 to 2-9 winners.
