Donegal takeaways and coffee carts tasted success last night at the Irish Takeaway Awards 2023.
The annual awards, which were held on Monday, celebrated the stars of the takeaway industry who go above and beyond for quality food and service.
A number of local businesses scooped awards, including Chandpur in Donegal Town, who won Ireland’s Indian Takeaway of the Year, as well as the best Indian in Ulster.
Susan Miah, co-owner of Chandpur told Donegal Daily: “We are truly over the moon. This is our third time out of three to win this. We are so proud of our amazing team we truly try so hard so it is lovely to be recognised. Our loyal customers are the absolute best they support us continually, we are blessed.”
Some other big awards on the night were Burger of the Year Ulster, which went to Mellys Cafe Killybegs.
Chandpur Team celebrates Best Indian Takeaway in Ireland and Ulster
An Capall Mara in Killybegs got another boost with the prize of ‘Coffee Cart of the Year’ for the second year running, as well as ‘Sweet Treat of the Year’.
Johnny’s Ranch in Ramelton was crowned Ulster’s ‘Street Food of the Year’ 2023.
AJ’s Filling Station Restaurant & Takeaway in Ballyshannon was also highly commended in the Takeaway Team of the Year category.
Bamboo Foods, Letterkenny was highly commended for Asian Takeaway of the Year, it’s sister store, Bamboba Bubble Tea was Highly Commended for the Innovation Award.
The Old Stone Café, Donegal won Breakfast Takeaway of the Year 2023.
Burrito Loco, Letterkenny scooped Burrito of the Year.
The Harbour Restaurant & Bar, Donegal Town, was crowned Ulster’s Restaurant Takeaway of the Year
