Donegal Bay Sub Aqua Club Search & Recovery team has welcomed the arrival of a new vessel – the ‘Cailín Deas’.
Timmy from Atlantic Composites in Gaoth Dobhair arrived with the new vessel over the weekend.
A spokesperson said “A lot of work has been achieved over the last two & half years by the present & previous committees.
“The club were fortunate to receive support from the National Lottery, our Sponsors & the public who supported our fundraising events.
“We thank all who were involved in bringing this project to fruition and we wish every diver & all those who travel on her a safe passage.
“We will follow with our full appreciation to our Grantees & Sponsors & the club look forward to taking her out on her maiden voyage.”
Formed in 1988, the team are an integral part of life in and around Donegal Bay.
Members of the team regularly assist other rescue services including the Gardai and the RNLI.
