An emergency salvage operation swung into operation in Killybegs Harbour today after a large vessel began to take on water.
The 75 metre unidentified vessel was taking on water via its hull before 9am.
Members of the local Killybegs Coast Guard were dispatched to the scene around 9.40am.
Members of the team went on board the vessel equipped with a salvage water pump and commenced pumping water from the vessel.
The salvage pump was successful in reducing the water level to a point that the hole could be inspected from the outside by divers.
Once the divers were able to stop the flow of water from outside the hull, members of the Killybegs Coast Guard were stood down at 7pm.
