Three people were arrested for drink/drug driving offences in Letterkenny last weekend.
One of driver had tested positive for cannabis and their car was seized for no insurance, tax or NCT.
The other driver tested positive for cocaine after being stopped for a speeding offence.
One driver was also arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
It was a busy weekend for the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit, who detected 15 speeding drivers. Fixed charge penalty notices have been issued to the drivers.
Gardaí also seized a car as it was being driven by a learner driver who was driving while unaccompanied, had no L plates on display and did not have a valid NCT.
Garda have called on motorists to “please make responsible decisions when it comes to road safety. Never drive while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Slow down. Please ensure also that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition and that your relevant documents are in order.”
